Energy management optimization for Gislaved Energipark

April 8th, 2024

The initiative that laid the foundation for Gislaved Energipark also sparked the idea behind Aire. The park is characterized by sustainability and resource efficiency, from renewable solar energy to energy management optimization. The four-hectare site houses nearly 5,000 solar panels, several energy storage systems with recycled batteries, and a fast charger for heavy vehicles.

Gislaved Energipark faces several challenges in optimizing energy flows and ensuring cost-effectiveness with the installed capacity of 2 MW. There is a need for data-driven energy management for buying and selling against the power grid, as well as for various services within the frequency market.

Aire offers an optimization service for energy management that integrates data-driven analysis to streamline energy flows in Gislaved Energipark. By using advanced algorithms and predictive analysis, we can optimize the use of energy storage, solar power plant, and other energy resources to maximize performance and minimize costs. In this case, we work with the FCR-D support service to Svenska Kraftnät.

The result: With Aires optimization service, Gislaved Energipark has managed to increase efficiency and reduce costs for energy management. The data-driven energy management has enabled smooth buying and selling transactions against the power grid and effective participation in the frequency market. Additionally, the project has helped increase the market share for renewable energy and promoted Sweden's goal of having 100 percent renewable energy production by 2040. The park also supports Agenda 2030 and the global goals.
